Update.... well kind of

Hey everyone, I had intended to make this an update on how Akira is doing because so many of you have been so kind as to ask how she is, but i'm afraid that update will have to wait for another day. This is actually an update to let everyone know that I may not be online as much for awhile. I had to put my dog to sleep yesterday and it's been really hard on me and the rest of the family. We were all real close to her, we've had her since she was a puppy, she's about 15 years old or so now. A German Shepard, Wolf mix. She saved my life more times than I can count, (living deep in the mountains can be very dangerous with all the wild animals), and yet there was nothing I could do to save hers. It's just not fair! Sorry everyone, it's just too much, to talk about any further, just thought I would let you all know why I won't be around much.

If you read my journal I went through the same thing on March 27, and that was the last day of Lobo's life. No words can comfort you right now. The pain and grief is too great. Just hug Akira, and keep on with your work of motherhood etc. It's the only thing that will help. You have my love, sympathy, and understanding. My Lobo was my protector and companion, and a very unique dog. Take good care of yourself and let the tears flow when they must.

I really do sympathize. When my second child (a boy was born) we had to put the family dog down. She had given us 14 wonderful years, but the 15th wasn't in the cards. I never liked dogs until my wife picked her out. The year before that our cat was killed in a fight with two neighborhood stray dogs. Both animals had miraculously survived four years ago when our house burned down, thanks to a volunteer firefighter who broke down the door with her shoulder. Yeah, life is definitely unfair.
